Our Internal Departments

Corp Marketing

As a fifteen-member department, Corp Marketing is one of the Corp’s three internal services. Marketing began as an external service providing advertising to student organizations and later became an internal department for advertising Corp products and services. From social media content to printed ads, Corp Marketing aims to spread the Corp’s mission in creative ways. Despite being one of the smallest departments, Marketing is proud of having a tight-knit environment and strong focus on professional development: from website design, to data analysis, social media management, photography, videography, graphic design and Adobe Creative Suite!

Corp Accounting

Corp Accounting maintains the company’s finances and tax reporting, including paying vendors, repricing products, and preparing for the annual audit. Accounting is housed in the main offices behind Vital Vittles, and closely works with service purchasers and data analysts to promote financial wellness. Hiring a diverse class from all four schools, the department prides itself on teaching the basic skills of accounting to all new hires. Accounting currently employs 18 Corpies.

Corp Information Technology

IT was founded in 2005 as “Corp Infotech” to manage the Corp’s growing digital footprint and point-of-sales systems. Since then, they’ve built order portals for Corp Storage and Catering, a class scheduling platform, and our employee management platform. In recent years, they’re expanded their role to data analysis aiming to centralize and automate the distribution of sales reports about our services. IT serves as the tech-mind of the Corp and is constantly looking to innovate its approach to sales and data analysis. No technical experience is needed to join the service, beyond an earnest desire to learn via a formalized onboarding process, mentorship, and self-teach sessions. IT is home to 20 Corpies.

Corp Catering

The Corp’s catering service started operating in 2007, providing catering to locations on or near Georgetown University’s campus, including university meetings, lectures, coffee events, breakfast or mid-day snacks. In partnership with third-party sellers, Catering operates the Corp's internal vending operations out of the Hilltoss kitchen, preparing our best-selling sandwiches and breakfast items for external storefronts. Catering employs around 20 Corpies.

Corp People Operations

The Corp’s human resources department, People Operations (“POps”) is staffed by employees of other services and departments.

POps spearheads numerous initiatives within The Corp, including payroll, professional and social misconduct, diversity working groups, internal climate survey, employee appreciation, and hiring.

Students of Georgetown, Inc., commonly known as “The Corp”, is a public, non-profit, and charitable organization at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. We consist of ten services—6 storefronts and 4 internal departments— generating annual revenues in excess of $4 million. Only undergraduate students of Georgetown University work as employees or sit as members of The Corp’s Board of Directors, distinguishing business operations at The Corp from other student-run companies.
